Why I drink much less milk than before

But is milk really that bad?

My milk tradition (in the past)

In my family there was always a hot meal at noon and bread with different toppings like cheese, sausage or jam was eaten in the evening. We children drank milk with it. Either with cocoa like my siblings or straight up like me.

I drank and I still drink milk very gladly today. For dinner, I usually drank two glasses of milk, about half a liter.

My mother grew up on a small farm, which her brother later took over. On this farm, there were pigs, cows and chickens, and of course a farm dog and cats. As a child, I loved to spend my time on this farm.

But I saw not only the beautiful sides. For example, my uncle and cousins had to go to the barn during a family party to milk the cows. In the same way, I was able to observe where my schnitzel comes from because I was allowed to watch pigs being slaughtered on the farm.

But the best part was, of course, the milk. Milk freshly milked, was the absolute (taste) dream. Since the farm was only a few miles from our house, my father or mother would drive there every few days to get fresh milk.

The present
